In this diploma thesis, the entire process of designing and manufacturing a functional prototype of a baby cradle intended for putting baby to sleep is presented. The work is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part briefly describes the history of children's furniture, the typology of children's bed furniture and its ergonomics, as well as the requirements for baby cradles, aspects affecting the child's behavior, the materials used and production technologies. In the practical part, there is documented the overall process of designing and manufacturing a baby cradle including market research and analysis. Own sketches, visualizations, production photos, and the 1:1 scale working model is included as well.

The main task of the bachelor thesis is the design and production of an arm chair, which is designed for long-term and comfortable sitting. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part includes a brief description of the historical development of seating furniture, as well as anthropometry, ergonomics and safety requirements for seating furniture. The arm chair is designed as a wooden structure made of solid ash with solid upholstery. Market analysis, recherche and process of design development and production are included in the practical part. It also deals with the model verification of the mechanical properties in the form of numerical analysis of finite element and stability. The thesis includes appendices with technical drawings, visualisations and photographs of the resulting arm chair.

The diploma thesis is devoted to the design of a lounge chair with a positionable function intended for interior use. The work is divided into two main parts. The first deals with the analysis of literary sources with the issue of relaxing upholstered furniture and reclining chairs. All important information related to this topic is mapped here, which is also used in the second part of the work – the own design. The entire process of designing a reclining chair is documented here, with a requirement primarily for the functionality and design of the product. The output of the entire process is a functional model on a scale of 1:1.

The stated goal of this diploma thesis is to understand the issue in the field of seating furniture, as well as the creation of one's own design and the production of a functional model of a lounge chair on a real scale, which is intended for the home and not for public spaces, and therefore it cannot be claimed as public furniture. The work as such consists of two separate parts, the first is a theoretical part and a practical part following it. In the theoretical part, it is necessary to become familiar with the issue of seating furniture from the point of view of history, ergonomics, as well as the selection of suitable materials and safety. In the following practical part, it is a focus on the gradual development of both the design and the subsequent implementation of the model. The work contains initial inspiration and research, sketches, computer 3D visualizations as well as technical documentation of the final product design with verification of the mechanical properties of the prototype using software.

The main content of this thesis is design of upholstered seat element and and subsequent production of the product. The first part of the thesis deals with the historical overview, ergonomic and typological requirements placed on the pro-duct. After a thorough study of this issue and search for research, it was possible to deal with the design itself with sketches, visualization and brief technical docu-mentation to the product of the prototype.

The main topic of this diploma thesis is to survey possibilities of applications of biopolymers in upholstery furniture. Also it takes aim to apply chosen bioplastic in design of seating element. First part of this thesis mentions requests on soft seating and contemporary materials, as well as background for eco-friendly design. Theoretical part consist of material research mapping current market of biopolymers possibly used in upholstery furniture production and interior architecture. This knowledge serves as a base for own design of soft seating element respecting safety and ergonomic request and accessible technologies.

At first the bachelor thesis deals with historical progress of upholstered bed panels and bed panels in general. Function demands required by nowadays user and ergonomic factors which are taken into account during manufacturing are also described here. Then the research of current trends is set up, supported by pictures from main world furniture fairs in recent years, and each design is characterized. In next section the overview of nowadays upholstery materials used in manufacturing process is formed, based on market and technology research. All bachelor thesis ended up with designing upholstered panel which is created on base of theoretic knowledge of historical progress, current trends and manufacturing possibilities.

The diploma thesis focuses on the design of a seat furniture element. It is divided into two parts. The first one takes a closer look at history, ergonomy, safety requirements, material usage and technologies used in the manufacturing process that are related to a final draft. The second part describes creation and manufactury progress from an original inspiration itself trough first drafts via 3D visualizations in Autodesk 3ds Max software up to the final production of the prototype scaled 1:1. The thesis also includes price calculations along with drawing documentation for a complete production process.

This diploma thesis focuses on the design of a single seat furniture piece which incorporates an unconventional material in its structure - a decoracryl resin panel. The inquiry is to decide if this synthetic material made of РММА (polymethyl methacrylate) acrylic resins with embedded natural elements (branches, grass and others) can be applied in seating furniture in comparison to its usual use as a decorative lining. Such application is quite uncommon, as seating furniture does not usually include panelling, unlike tables or storage furniture. The outcome is the actual production of the final design, which demonstrates the utilization of decoracryl in seating furniture, impartring a unique and slender look on the furniture piece - a converation chair - due to its translucence.

The content of this thesis is the design of an upholstered armchair. The starting point of the design is the theoretical part, which primarily contains general requirements for dimensions, construction and safety. The practical part of the thesis discusses the design procedure of the product with regard to the information of the theoretical part. The procedure described is supplemented with drawings and visualizations. Subsequently, the production process is recorded with the description of the whole construction process. The final draft is presented using photographs of a 1:1 model and visualizations of the element in the interior. In conclusion, the entire element is evaluated in terms of use in practice.
